As you are getting proficient on the web, you can get overwhelmed with “busyness”. I am going to address that issue and why you need to slow down every once in a while so you can create products. Have you ever done this? It’s not as hard as you might think.

Number one, you need to get in the “creative mode”. This may just involve sitting outside by a waterfall or even in your back patio with a small water feature that you’ve picked up at the local hardware store. There you are sitting with your iced tea and propped up with a nice pillow at your back and a pad of paper and pen. It is important to slow down every so often so you can think in a way that is renewed, separate from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, separate from distractions, etc.

I recommend that the first info product you create could become something that you give away as a gift when people opt in to become a part of your ‘list’.

Think about what excites you, what you are passionate about.  Appeal to a specific audience.  Ask people for feedback so you can tweak the product as you get feedback.

I would love to hear about some of the ideas you have come up with.  You could make the product in the form of an ebook, a video training, a ‘How to’.  After a while, when you have established a good relationship with your list, you can create more products and even offer coaching in something.  You probably will start small and gradually become better known.

This is a matter of inches at first.  It takes patience.  Hang in.

I’m excited to be back again.  I have been working on an offline project.  How are you all doing?

Today, I want to comment on the importance of connecting on the social media sites.  First of all, you’ll want to go to one of your favorite social media sites and do a search for people who like to network.  I suggest doing a search for network marketers specifically.  Read what people are posting and make comments on what they have posted.  Request to follow them and quite often they will also request to follow you too.  Be careful not to spam on the social media sites.  Do not plug your business.  You can put a link to your product or service after your signature and phone number just as a way of connection.

Also, seek out celebrities or gurus in the niche you are in.  Request to follow them and make comments on their posts.  Visit their sites and blogs and make comments there.  Have fun with your comments, you will get noticed more.  Continue to offer good content as well.

It’s a good idea to set aside a time period each day to post comments and articles, etc.  Otherwise you will find easy to neglect this activity.  Hey, I’ve been guilty of this myself.

The search engines will like it the more you are followed and one of the best ways to be followed is by requesting to follow many many people.  You can even outsource this activity if you want.

I want to comment a little on something that is becoming obvious to just about everyone.  The fact is, we’d all like to have a lifestyle where we can enjoy some fun and recreation even as we grow older without having to work every day into our old age.  What about concerns about outliving your retirement savings?  I want to be able to address those concerns.

I have a couple of suggestions.  First off, it’s important to set aside at least 10% of your earnings each month and put it in a retirement account set aside just for that.  You should also have an emergency account in which you set aside 10% of your earnings for unplanned medical needs.

I also believe you should set up several income streams in case your main income stream drys up for some reason.   I’m excited about the strategies in this video in which you will discover some amazing online techniques to give you a better future!  In other words, add another income stream for you.

Another important part of your future is your health.  This involves 3 distinct aspects:   1.  Exercise  2. Nutrition and 3.  Rest (getting enough sleep each day)

The important thing is to plan ahead.  The more you can plan and be ready for anything, the better off you will be.  Mix fun with discipline.

I will be posting more on this subject later, but I just wanted to put out some ways to make life the best it can be.

It’s great to be back with all of you.  Let’s get down to work so you can get those social media icons on your blog.  These instructions are appropriate for pc users.  They are also particular to Windows XP.

At first you’ll want to click on each individual icon and get the url source code.  After you click on an icon, scroll down the page and find the file url for the icon.  It will have your blog name in it.  Right click on the url and click on “select all.”  Then, hit control c to copy the entire url.  Paste it onto a document that you will be able to access later and label it with the appropriate icon name.

Then, you will need to get the location url from each of the social media you will use.  If you have a group page or fan page with face book, you will need to get that exact link.

Next, you will want to go to your dashboard for word press.  Click on Appearances, then widgets.  You will want to drag a text box over to the place where you will want these icons to show up.  If you have a 2 column appearance, then I recommend putting the text box over in the sidebar area.  You can experiment where you think it will work best.  Give the section a title, such as:  ”Connect With Me Here!”  In the body of the text box, you will gather the html code.  It is really not that intimidating!  Bear with me.  Remember, all the code for this goes right here in the body of this text box.

Let’s say you have 3 social media icons you want to put up and they are Face Book, You Tube and Twitter in this order.  You will start with:

<center><a href=”http://this is where you put your link to your face book page, (no spaces)”><img src=”here’s where the code for the icon goes that matches the face book group page (remember, you saved this to a document) (paste it between these quotation marks)”></a>

Then, you will do the same thing for you tube, only you will leave off the <center> at the beginning.  In this you tube section, start with the <a href=” and put the page location for your channel page.  Then continue just as with I showed you with face book.  End with the </a>

Then, do the same for Twitter.  End the code with the </center>

Each social media section will start with the <a href= and end with the </a>  and the entire 3 social media code will end with </center>

Then, save your changes and refresh the page and go to your blog page to see how it looks.  You can always change the location of the icons by dragging the text box to another location on the widget page.  Then, you would copy and paste the entire code and paste it in another text box (deleting the first one.)  You can play around with this until it looks the way you want.

Whew!  Hope you’re still with me.  Be sure to test what you have done to see if it works.

Hey, sorry, I was away for a while. How is everyone?

I’m proud to say that I figured out how to put the social media icons on this page. I am willing to give you some instructions to help you with this if you need the help, that is if you want to put them on your own wordpress blog. It does depend on how you have installed your wordpress. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I am willing to help wherever I can.

If you have installed your wordpress on the root of your domain, then this should work.

First, you go to google and search for social media icons. Get a free pack with a .zip file to download. Choose one that has 3 different sizes to choose from and a pack that includes all the social media icons you will want. Then, save it to a place on your computer that you will remember.

Then, go to your dashboard of your wordpress and go to media files. Click on “Add New.” Select the files that you just saved to your computer. By the way, it works best if you have previously extracted the files. To select the files, hold down the control key and select the icons you want.  You may want to start with three and see how they fit on your page. Upload the files and they will appear in your library.

You will need the exact full link for each of the pages you want your visitors to go to.  For instance, if face book is one of your choices, then use the link for the group page or fan page of face book.  Then, you’ll need the exact url of the face book icon.

Hey, I just had a brainstorm tonight.  I’m sitting here at my computer and I realize that especially when you, or anyone embarks on a new endeavor, it is so important to keep on until you see it through.  Sometimes you just need a little encouragement from someone, or maybe from yourself to keep trying until you have success.  This can be true when you first start to use the Internet to communicate something you want to give the world.  The Internet can be confusing sometimes and especially when you are new to wordpress, etc. By the way, there is good help on the way to you from a very comprehensive training site and system: http://GreaterValueForYou.com

The fact is, so many people stop just short of really achieving what they set out to do. Have you ever heard the famous speech by Art Williams regarding this line of thinking?  He talks about how “almost doing something is not doing it at all.”  I may not be quoting him exactly here.   Throughout his speech, he says, “Just do it.”  He says that again and again during the speech.  If you ever get a chance to hear this speech, do it (no pun intended.)

After all, Thomas Edison had to go through at least 700 prototypes (I’ve also seen reference to 10,000 prototypes) for some of his inventions (namely: a more practical and longer burning electric light bulb.)  I love the fact that he did not give up trying and trying again.  With him, you get the great, inspiring idea that even if you try and fail, it doesn’t mean that you didn’t learn something.  The fact is that every failure is a learning experience because you learn what will not work.  Then, you avoid that next time.

This is one of the most cost effective ways to build a list of followers, friends and future business partners.  Join the free social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, My Space, You Tube, LinkedIn, etc.  Then, when you go to each of these, search for networkers, make comments on their posts and of course, invite them to friendship.  I have a very good video regarding this for you.  Click here to see it.

What you will find is that people will start to want to befriend you and you them.  Also, when you see some good networkers, you will want to follow them, because usually they will follow you as well.  Make comments and invite feedback and you will see people starting to follow you more and more.  It’s exciting when you check your email and see all those people joining you!

You can create a fan page or a group and invite people to join you.  There’s more particular instructions and info on this free video.

Search engines will like your eventual popularity!

Be sure to check in at least twice a day on these social sites so you can keep making comments and give value in your posts.  Most of these social sites will not want you to out and out make an offer to join your business opportunity.  Be sure to follow the particular guidelines in this video.

On these social sites, you will want to set up your profile with a bio and your picture, etc.  In your bio you can have a link to an affiliate of yours in the resources part of the “About Me” page.   Be sure and keep your goal in mind as you make comments and set up your bio.  Certainly, part of your goal should be to help people with conquering the internet and finding a web presence as an entrepreneur (or whatever your particular goal might be.)
